Students, please share with your parents how to navigate through this class blog throughout the school year.  Remember to visit daily  :o)

Students completed surveys focussing on their attitudes towards math and writing. This information will better inform me on how to address individual needs based on how they see themselves as learners.

Students have their Room 308 welcome letter to share with parents.  Please, both parents and students, initial or sign the welcome sheet to indicate that you have both read and understood the information shared.  A letter has been sent home focussing on the use of online tools such as Blogs, Wikis, Google Drive, YouTube & Twitter (@McM_MsT).  Please discuss this letter with your child and return the form before or by Friday September 9th.

Class Community: Students have been asked to bring in one or two objects and their favourite book to share during the assigned time.  This activity "What's in the Sack" inspired by Shel Silverstein will continue to build our classroom community.  Please review the task/handout in order to be prepared for your sharing next week.

The ARTS: For your reference, please visit the Colour Terminology Prezi.  Class time will be provided to complete the Colour Package   :o)

Google Drive: Sign in to your google drive using aw.tdsb.on.ca and your signin information.  Locate your google classroom assignment.  Time will be provided in class to work on the assignment, but some home time will be needed as well.

Agendas: each student has received an agenda as we will be using them on a daily basis to schedule class activities, trips and team events for the school year.  Remember to jot down information and check your agenda daily.

READING: students are reminded to bring a book to school to read, they are also invited to borrow books from the classroom.  Daily reading at home is encouraged.  When the school library schedule is created, we will be visiting it regularly to sign out books for enjoyment or research.  The Toronto Public Library is a wonderful place to borrow and sign out books or ebooks.

MATH: "Math is Everywhere".  Complete the Entrance Pass sheet and place it in the Entrance Bin located on the shelf by the class door by Wednesday Sept. 14th.

Indoor/Outdoor Shoes:  students are reminded to bring in a second pair of shoes to leave at school (in their lockers) to wear during the instructional day.  This minimizes dirt on our classroom floor as we do sit on the floor often; as well as, to ensure safety in the gym during physical activities.

Origami Water Balloon; which will be modified into a paper lantern for our class community.

Indoor/Outdoor Shoes:  it would be helpful for students to bring in a second pair of shoes to leave at school (in their lockers) to wear during the instructional day.  This minimizes dirt on our classroom floor as we do sit on the floor often; as well as, to ensure safety in the gym during physical activities.
